Advanced versions of frugal innovations called advanced frugal innovations have made their successful appearance in many sectors globally. These innovations with their origins from the grassroots innovations are sophisticated products of engineering that many times use cutting edge research for their realization.
Therefore, Advanced Frugal Innovations (AFI) with their foundations in sound engineering can offer a path towards ecological and socio-economic sustainability. This will depend, however, on promoting both the scientific understating of AFI and its implementation in companies’ innovation processes.
This workshop is designed to bring together leading scholars in the field of AFI to exchange knowledge and to discuss the scope for collaboration on both AFI research and implementation.
