Cyber Valley is Europe's largest research alliance in the fields of artificial intelligence, intelligent systems and robotics. As a co-founder, the University of Stuttgart has been shaping Cyber Valley since 2018 with its particular strengths in the combination of modeling, hardware and artificial intelligence in integrated cyber-physical systems. Research in these areas, for example in intelligent robotics, offers great innovative potential. Here in particular, it is possible and important to combine foundational research with prospects for economic exploitation and social responsibility.

The event "Engineering Intelligence - Cyber Valley at University of Stuttgart" presents highlights and activities at the Stuttgart campus on November 29 and 30, 2023 and promotes further networking in the research field of intelligent systems and artificial intelligence. Over the two days of the event, participants can expect an engaging program with a variety of exciting panels, lectures, workshops, poster sessions and exhibitions, including:

  • Inaugural addresses by new university professors
    • Prof. Steffen Staab, Institute für Artificial Intelligence - more information
    • Prof. Alina Roitberg, Institute für Artificial Intelligence - more information
    • Prof. Andrea Iannelli, Institute for Systems Theory and Automatic Control - more information
  • Introduction of the new Institute for Artificial Intelligence (KI)
  • Insights into activities of the Clusters of Excellence IntCDC and SimTech
  • First research findings from the Center for Bionic Intelligence
  • Opening of the Transfer Center of the University of Stuttgart (TRACES)

Location and directions

"Engineering Intelligence – Cyber Valley at University of Stuttgart" will be held on Campus Vaihingen at the University of Stuttgart, with events taking place at PWR 47 (Pfaffenwaldring 47) as well as the frei[raum] (Pfaffenwaldring 45).

Due to environmental and parking space concerns, we encourage participants to arrive via public transport, rather than by car.
Coming from Stuttgart center, Campus Vaihingen can be reached via the subway lines S1 (to Vaihingen or Herrenberg), S2 (to Vaihingen or Filderstadt) or S3 (to Vaihingen or Flughafen/Messe), getting off at "Universität" .
Coming from the airport, just follow the signs marked "S". Take the subway S2 (Schorndorf) or S3 (Backnang) and get off at "Universität".

PWR 47 is locaed directly opposite the exit of the subway station marked as "Universitätszentrum", with PWR 45 only being a small walking distance away:
