Artificial Intelligence is fundamentally transforming how organizations innovate, design digital platforms, and create new business models. This course provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the interplay between AI, digital platforms, and technological innovation. It combines technological foundations with strategic, entrepreneurial, and societal perspectives.
Students will explore the core concepts of digital platforms and AI-enabled ecosystems while analyzing real-world cases from leading companies such as Amazon, Nespresso, and major AI providers. The course covers platform strategies, technology entrepreneurship, corporate accelerators, social entrepreneurship, and the role of AI in both public and private innovation ecosystems.
Particular emphasis is placed on the impact of generative and agentic AI on organizations, innovation processes, and society. Current developments are discussed alongside challenges related to explainable AI, sustainability, ethics, governance, and public policy.
Combining academic research with practical case studies, the course equips students with the analytical skills needed to evaluate AI-driven business models, platform strategies, and innovation ecosystems in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:
- explain the fundamental concepts of Artificial Intelligence and digital platforms,
- analyze platform business models and digital ecosystems,
- evaluate the impact of AI on innovation, entrepreneurship, and corporate strategy,
- critically assess current industrial and societal AI applications,
- discuss opportunities and challenges related to explainable AI, agentic AI, and responsible AI.
