The two courses “Basics of Entrepreneurial Venturing” and “Applied Entrepreneurship” of the second module are offered every winter semester.
The courses (lecture and exercise) deal with all issues relevant to start-ups, from the idea to market entry. The module is divided into two main components: a theory-based lecture and a practice-oriented exercise focusing on the following topics:
- Business start-up and self-employment
- Start-up environment and founder personality
- Start-up idea and process
- Financing and location
- Business plan and property rights
- From entrepreneur to established entrepreneur
Current concepts such as lean start-up, crowdfunding and business incubators are also included selectively. The lecture focuses on the scientific fundamentals, while the exercise takes a practical approach to the involvement of entrepreneurs.
After successfully completing the module:
- Students are familiar with the most important issues in the context of a start-up process
- Have a broad knowledge, including the scientific foundations and practical application of the significance of entrepreneurship in an economic and business context.
- Are able to recall their knowledge and reproduce it, supplemented by their own examples, in a modified context.
- Can identify characteristics and factors of successful start-ups and evaluate start-up ideas based on criteria and acquired methods and develop and visualize them independently
This module provides an ideal basis for students who can envision a career as a company founder.
The lectures take place on the campus in Vaihingen: Tuesdays from 11:30 to 13:00 in Pfaffenwaldring 4 (V 4.01). Campus link.
