Gabriel Busch: Freemover at the University of Stuttgart

March 27, 2024

As a freemover, you can take part in everyday university life at the University of Stuttgart.

The University of Stuttgart offers students from other countries and whose university is not a partner university of the University of Stuttgart the opportunity to participate in everyday university life as a freemover. Outside of an official exchange program, interested students can attend lectures and courses on an individual basis.

Gabriel Busch from Brazil took part in the freemover program and shares his experiences:

"I initially learned about the program through the university website, since I was going to an internship at Bosch in Feuerbach, and I didn’t wanted to stop my studies completely through this year. What drew me to Uni Stuttgart was its strong reputation for the engineering areas and the opportunity to immerse myself in an international university environment.

During my time in Stuttgart, I found both the city and the university to be incredibly welcoming. Specifically, at ENI, I was impressed by the quality of the classes and the different way they were conducted in comparison with the classes that I had in my university in Brazil. The professors were all very nice and reachable. The supportive academic environment fostered personal and intellectual growth, and I truly valued my time there.

Overall, my experience in Stuttgart exceeded my expectations, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of your program. I'm confident that future freemovers and foreign students will find the same enriching experience that I did."

He was supervised by Alexander Brem and Andreas Wahl from ENI during his time.

With the freemover program, students can study at the University of Stuttgart for up to two semesters.

The application periods are from June 16 to December 31 for the winter semester and from January 15 to June 30 for the summer semester.
