In order to keep nurturing these initiatives with the new research insights, Dr. Ferran Giones at ENI, has been involved in the selection of articles for a special issue on the topic at the Industry and Innovation journal. The special issue includes five excellent articles offer distinct perspectives on this phenomenon; they cover a diversity of theoretical lenses and manifestations of the phenomenon, and open several future research directions. The special issue includes an introduction article written together with Raj Shankar, Bram Timmermans, Sheryl Winston Smith, and Dr. Cristobal Garcia-Herrera. The introduction proposes further considering the process view of this type of collaboration/s. It opens opportunities for a better understanding of the relationship between antecedents and consequences at the firm, industry, and ecosystem levels.
