Now in its fifth edition, the event brought together both long-standing members and new faces in the EE research community, fostering engaging discussions and new perspectives.
The program covered a range of exciting topics, including the dynamics of entrepreneurial ecosystems, inclusiveness, resource and proximity factors, and the role of government and policy. A highlight was the interactive workshop on the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Paradigm, led by Erik Stam, where we debated central EE concepts and future research directions.
The event was further enriched by the launch of the GEM 2024 report and a deep dive into Bilbao’s cultural landscape, including a visit to the famous Guggenheim Museum.
A highlight for ENI was Sophia Hess's presentation of her ongoing research on Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Proximity and Entrepreneurial Pivots, a collaboration with Ferran Giones and Raj Shankar. Their work explores how different dimensions of EE proximity shape the frequency and intensity of pivots in new ventures.
For any researcher interested in entrepreneurial ecosystems, the EE Research School is an exceptional opportunity to test ideas, gain feedback from leading scholars, and engage with editors of top entrepreneurship journals. Looking forward to the next edition!
