On 20 June 2022, the Institute of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Science welcomed the delegation of the Transatlantic Cities of Tomorrow to Arena2036 on the Vaihingen campus of the University of Stuttgart. In addition to the institute, the Startupautobahn, the start-up Semanux and the Fraunhofer Institutes IPA and IAO also showed how closely intertwined research and industry work together at the Stuttgart location.

In an effort to support municipalities on both sides of the Atlantic, the American Council on Germany (ACG) has launched a new initiative entitled "Transatlantic Cities of Tomorrow - Digitisation and the Future of Work". This is a three-year initiative for the mutual exchange of thought leaders in small and medium-sized cities in Germany and the US to develop solutions to common challenges posed by digitisation and to find innovative approaches to transform these challenges into opportunities for the local workforce and economy.

"Transatlantic Cities of Tomorrow: Digitisation and the Future of Work" is organised and hosted by the American Council on Germany with the kind support of the Transatlantic Programme of the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany with funds from the European Recovery Program (ERP) of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi).
