1. Please briefly introduce yourself and your current job.
I’m a PhD student at the Institute for Manufacturing (IfM) of the University of Cambridge. My research focuses on using virtual reality to immersively visualize possible futures, an application that has potential for al kinds of enterprises, from tech giants to smaller SMEs.
2. How did you get involved in entrepreneurship?
The field of study and the applications of my research brought me naturally towards the entrepreneurship area. Thanks to my job I’m often invovled in entrepreneurial settings and interact with managers and employees of all kinds and level.
3. What tip would you give to students who are enthusiastic about founding a company, or who have already taken the first steps towards self-employment?
Mostly for those who are taking the first steps: don’t underestimate the power and hidden surprises behind meeting new people and doing new things. Exposure to serendipity is a fundamental ingredient of entrepeneurship and innovation. Leave space and time for new ideas, interesting people and fertile activities.
