Within just a few weeks, the participants of the interdisciplinary key qualification (FüSQ) "AWAKE – From Idea to Startup in a Few Weeks" formed a total of four teams and developed exciting ideas, which they pitched to an expert jury at our Demo Night on January 23rd. This event marked the grand finale of AWAKE for the winter semester.
The four teams, composed of students from various disciplines, presented their innovative startup ideas, applying the knowledge they had gained from the crash course on entrepreneurship. The ideas ranged from lifestyle apps and smart solutions to reduce food waste to a concept for more efficient green energy.
Our expert jury, consisting of Kristina Winter (formerly TRACES), Sophia Schimpgen (NXTGN), Katrin Kreidel (AWAKE alumna and founder of hydrop systems), and Christine Kraus (HFT), provided feedback and valuable advice for the next steps. Ultimately, the jury prize was awarded to the HYSS team, which developed a solution for more efficient hydrogen processing.
After the impressive startup presentations, the evening transitioned seamlessly into a casual networking session, where participants had the opportunity to exchange ideas and reflect on their shared experiences in a relaxed atmosphere.
A huge thank you to everyone involved who made the AWAKE program and its final event so exciting!
We are now eagerly anticipating how these teams will perform in the ASAP Finale. Three out of the four teams successfully qualified, standing out from over 80 ideas to secure a place in the final competition on February 12th. On this day, they will compete against 30 other teams from across Baden-Württemberg. Fingers crossed for their success!
The FüSQ "AWAKE – From Idea to Startup in a Few Weeks" takes place annually and is open to students of all disciplines.
