September 25, 2025

On September 16, 2025, Laura Christina Rehberg successfully defended her dissertation entitled “A Methodology Towards Improved Prototyping for Technical Product Development in Industrial Applications.”

The defense took place before the examination committee headed by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Robert Schulz and the reviewers Prof. Dr. rer. pol. Alexander Brem (first reviewer) and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Matthias Kreimeyer, Ingénieur ECP (second reviewer), who thoroughly examined the scientific work and its results.

Laura had been with the institute since its founding and moved to Daimler Truck AG after two years, where she works in the development of mechatronic systems.

In her doctoral thesis, Laura focused on the investigation of prototype development in industrial applications. She not only analyzed test strategy approaches, but also developed and validated maturity models and success factors for prototypical development phases, using the mobility industry as an example.

We congratulate Laura on this success and wish her all the best for the future.
