Martin Schwarz defends dissertation on meaningful work in entrepreneurship

March 3, 2026

On March 3, 2026, Martin Schwarz successfully defended his dissertation at the University of Stuttgart, completing his doctorate.

The defense took place before the examination committee chaired by Prof. Dr. Tobias Siebert, with Prof. Dr. Alexander Brem serving as primary reviewer and Prof. Dr. Elisabeth F. Mueller (Bundeswehr University Munich) as second reviewer.

In his research, Martin Schwarz investigates why entrepreneurs often find building a venture especially meaningful and which factors shape this experience over time, including the interplay among entrepreneurial passion, job crafting, and founders’ social identity profiles.

We congratulate him on this achievement and wish him continued success with ongoing and future projects at the intersection of meaningful work, well-being, entrepreneurship, innovation management, and AI-enabled workplaces.
