Distinction for Scholarly Achievement

During the Annual Celebration of the Syddansk Universitet – University of Southern Denmark in Odense, Prof. Brem was conferred the title of “Æresdoktor,” together with three other researchers from the United States—affiliated with the University of Wisconsin, the University of Texas at Austin, and Stanford University—and one colleague from the University of Queensland, Australia. The Doctor Technices honoris causa (Dr. techn. h. c.) degree is the highest academic distinction in engineering and technological sciences in Denmark. It is awarded in recognition of significant contributions to the field.

In his laudatory address, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Bindslev, highlighted the depth, breadth, and sustained relevance of Prof. Brem’s scholarly contributions. Hi also noted Prof. Brem’s interdisciplinary approach, which bridges engineering and management research, and his international influence. Additionally, Prof. Brem’s widely referenced works and his ability to communicate complex concepts to varied audiences were acknowledged as advancing scholarly exchange across multiple disciplines and regions.
