The RISE workshop series opens up new perspectives for researchers who want to recognize the innovation potential of their research and take it to the next level in a hands-on way. The Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation Science (ENI) invites researchers from all disciplines to the sixth edition of the workshop series, which will take place between March and July 2026.

How can researchers tap into the innovation potential of their research? With the sixth edition of the modular workshop series RISE – Research, Innovation, Science & Entrepreneurship, the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation Science (ENI) invites doctoral students and postdocs from all disciplines to expand their research with practical innovation and entrepreneurship skills.

RISE is aimed at early-career researchers who are interested in translating their research into application, transfer, or social impact—without the prerequisite of starting a business. The workshop series teaches practical tools, promotes an innovative mindset, and opens up new perspectives for individual career development.

What participants can expect:

  • Eight workshop dates with different focuses between March 18 and July 8, held on-site at Campus Vaihingen
  • Two-day kick-off boot camp plus six thematic workshops and a closing event
  • Topics such as design thinking, impactful innovation, business model development, intellectual property, and financing, as well as pitch training
  • Workshops led by qualified experts and guest speakers with practical relevance
  • Participation in individual modules or the entire series is possible
  • 0.25 credit points per workshop module for doctoral students at the University of Stuttgart (in cooperation with GRADUS)

Participation is free of charge, made possible by the QCLUB-2 project in the QSENS Cluster4Future, funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology, and Space (BMFTR). RISE is organized by the Institute of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Science (ENI) and supported by our partner network, including the Falling Walls Foundation's Young Entrepreneurs in Science Initiative (YES), the Transfer Center (TRACES), and the Graduate Academy (GRADUS) of the University of Stuttgart.
